Am I Safe is built to be as private as possible. This page explains exactly what data the app handles and why.

How Data Is Used

Push tokens and Contact IDs are used exclusively to route emergency alert notifications between you and your emergency contacts. No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.

Data Storage

Push tokens and Contact IDs are stored on servers hosted by Vercel and Upstash, both based in the United States. Tokens expire automatically after 90 days of inactivity. All other app data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted.

Data Deletion

You can delete all local data at any time from Settings → Clear All Data. To request deletion of your push token and Contact ID from our servers, email us at the address below.

Children

Am I Safe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Not a Replacement for Emergency Services

Am I Safe is a personal safety tool only. It is not a substitute for emergency services. In any situation involving immediate danger, always contact 911 or your local emergency number first.

No Guarantee of Delivery

Alerts depend on internet connectivity, device availability, and third-party push notification infrastructure. Am I Safe cannot guarantee delivery in all circumstances. Do not rely solely on this app in high-risk situations.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring your emergency contacts have the app installed, notifications enabled, and understand how the system works. You are responsible for configuring your timer settings appropriately for your situation.

Limitation of Liability

Am I Safe and its developers are not liable for any harm, injury, or loss arising from use or inability to use the app, including failure of alerts to be delivered or acted upon.

Acceptable Use

You may not use Am I Safe to harass, alarm, or deceive any person. Misuse of the alert system is prohibited.

Changes

We may update the app or these terms at any time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
