Frequently Asked Questions

How often do yacht positions update?

Yacht Watch updates positions in real-time with a full rotation every 5 minutes across all 224+ tracked yachts. The active batch receives updates approximately every minute.

Why can't I see all yachts at once?

Due to AIS data streaming limits, we track yachts in rotating batches of 50. This ensures you get comprehensive coverage of all 224+ superyachts within a 5-minute window.

Why doesn't a yacht show a location?

Some yachts may have their AIS transponders turned off, be in port, or not actively broadcasting their position for privacy or security reasons.

Can I track a specific yacht?

Yes! Use the search function to find any yacht by name, and the map will focus on its current location (if broadcasting).

What is AIS?

AIS (Automatic Identification System) is a maritime tracking system that vessels use to broadcast their position, speed, and heading for safety and navigation purposes.
