Frequently Asked Questions

My TV isn’t showing up in the app. Make sure your iPhone and TV are on the same WiFi network. For DLNA TVs, tap “Scan for TVs” in Settings. It can take a few seconds for the TV to appear.

The video plays silently on Chromecast. MKV files with AC-3, DTS, or EAC-3 audio tracks play silently on Chromecast — this is a Chromecast hardware limitation. Use DLNA instead for those files (your TV decodes the audio natively), or use a file with AAC audio for Chromecast.

Subtitles aren’t showing on my TV. Subtitles via Chromecast: place a .srt file next to your video with the same filename (e.g. Movie.srt beside Movie.mkv). The subtitle picker appears automatically.

Subtitles via DLNA are not supported — external subtitle delivery is ignored by most DLNA TVs. MKV files with embedded subtitle tracks will work natively on the TV.

The app is asking me to subscribe but I already paid. Tap Restore Purchase on the subscription screen. If the issue persists, contact us below.

How do I cancel my subscription? Open SettingsSubscriptionManage Subscription, or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions directly.

A file won’t play locally. Castor uses VLC for local playback and supports virtually all formats. If a file won’t play, it may be corrupted or use an unsupported codec. Try playing it in VLC on a desktop to confirm.
